Every gem is 1 NFT token and, at the same time, a living ecosystem whose state is not drawn randomly — it is computed from a cross of real, deterministic data. These are the connections we make and why we interpret them this way:
We read day-aggregated parameters from CERN Run 3 (energy √s = 13.6 TeV, delivered luminosity, invariant mass, decay ratios) across the four major experiments (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS, LHCb). Interpretation: energy and luminosity are the "background radiation" that gives the world life — when luminosity spikes or the invariant mass approaches the Higgs boson (125.1 GeV), the system declares a quantum anomaly that shifts color, weather and triggers events. Particle collisions become collisions of living phenomena.
Each world links to its on-chain owner (contract LOST PIXEL GEMS V1, Ethereum) and reacts live to the owner's wallet actions. Interpretation: when the owner buys, swaps or moves assets, that energy floods the gem — a random burst of color and anomalies. The most-traded, highest-heat gems accumulate tension: they mutate harder and their environment jumps into deep space. Market speculation becomes inner weather.
We connect to public sources: USGS seismology (earthquakes in the last 24 h) and Open-Meteo weather. Each gem is assigned a real ground station covering at least one country per continent (North & South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Antarctica). Interpretation: that location's real weather drives the world's climate (rain, snow, fog, storm); a real nearby earthquake shakes the gem and cracks its ground. These are 111 distinct readings that change every day.
Each world runs 1,460 simulated days. When complete it resets — but not identically: the analysis algorithm re-blends all public scientific data, on-chain ownership and the global climate events of that moment. That is why each gem mutates differently every 4-year cycle: same identity seed (tokenId), a different universe each turn.
Each gem interprets the real flora, fauna and biomes recorded near its assigned Earth station, drawn live from GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility). Species names, occurrence counts and taxa come from actual field records — so a Tokyo gem breathes with Farfugium japonicum and Milvus migrans, a Reykjavík gem with its own. This is an artistic proposal by D.C.O.T.: an experiment in programmed life creation fueled by real-time data. It reinterprets scientific and on-chain data as an aesthetic gesture — a digital ecosystem powered by the energy of a pixelated gemstone on the blockchain. Each world is "digitally alive" because it draws on real-time data, randomly programming itself from particle-collision experiments to generate life. Rendered holographically and framed to span one to two days, each gem can be permanently displayed, evolving naturally through its daily 24-hour progression.
Future vision: each element could become an AI agent executing life purposes that reset every four years — upon restarting the cycle, new purposes are assigned from live data on the creation of life in the real world.
